Raising awareness and improving Feral Cats’ lives through education and understanding.

About FERAL CATS

Do you “ignore” Feral Cats because you think it looks like they are doing well on their own?  Have you been given the advice that feeding Feral Cats will attract other Feral Cats, and, as a result, do nothing?

Many of us see homeless Feral Cats every day. Some make a choice to do nothing. Others simply do not know what to do about them at all.

There are, however, many who feed homeless Feral Cats in secret. These people travel every day to parking lots, abandoned buildings, and other sites to provide care to the “poor” and “needy” of the cat world. They personally furnish long-term managed care including medical services and humane population control for these animals. They are called Feral Cat Caretakers, and they are the direct lifeline for Feral Cats.

BUT WHY IS THE WORK OF FERAL CAT CARETAKERS SO OFTEN KEPT SECRET?
It is because the lack of education has created so many negative views about Feral Cats. Therefore, bringing attention to their work may endanger the Feral Cats’ lives.

Many Feral Cats are often treated as if they are disposable and have no value at all. Many of these living creatures have been abused, tortured, killed, abandoned, and left to fend for themselves. Many people believe that eliminating large populations of Feral Cats will “fix” the problem.  Consequently, many Feral Cats have been destroyed because they are viewed as nuisances.
There are also those who believe that Feral Cats taken to shelters will have a chance at finding a home.

FERAL CATS TAKEN TO SHELTERS WILL BE
EUTHANIZED
BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ADOPTABLE

Sadly, services that should be available to Feral Cats through funded animal welfare organizations are practically non-existent. That void leaves very little hope for Feral Cats.

DESTROYING OR IGNORING FERAL CATS WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF HOMELESSNESS AND OVERPOPULATION AMONG FERAL CATS.

So what is the solution?
THE SOLUTION FOR FERAL CATS IS A PROCESS KNOWN AS TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN, COMMONLY ABBREVIATED AS TNR, ALONG WITH A COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE LONG-TERM MANAGED CARE FOR THESE ANIMALS.

Kitty Angels was established to provide education to the public about Feral Cats. It is our goal to clear up misconceptions surrounding Feral Cats in order to improve their lives. It is our hope that there will be a day where Feral Cats are valued by all.

IN SUMMARY

Although the issues presented are in the “Feral Cat World”, it is the hope of Kitty Angels that this information will inspire you to look deep within yourself to be more compassionate and accepting of the less fortunate and misunderstood. If one person makes one positive change today, it would encourage another person to change, creating a domino effect. This world we live in today faces many challenges such as bullying, violence, hate crimes, etc. We need to make positive changes. We want to see a world with goodwill, compassion and kindness for others. Small changes bring big results. Have compassion and kindness for the less fortunate knowing that they will returned to you in ways you could never dream of. Helping one Feral Cat today is only the beginning.
